Hampton Bays Boy Scout Troop St. Pats Parade Weekend

Hampton Bays Boy Scout Troop 483's St. Pats weekend in Hampton Bays

Well the Scouts from Hampton Bays Boy Scout Troop 483 had a great weekend.  We started out by setting up Camp at Squiretown Park for the weekend on Friday evening.  We got up at Sunrise to start getting ready for the 9th Annual Hampton Bays St. Patricks Day Parade.  This year we put a nice Float together for the Parade and invited the Cub Scouts from Hampton Bays Cub Scout Pack 483 and East Quogue Cub Scout Pack 63 to join us.  Everyone had a great time participating in the Annual St. Pats Parade.  After the Parade we returned to Squiretown Park and the Scouts cooked themselves up a nice lunch.  The rest of the afternoon was spent working on the park and clearing more of the tree's that had been knocked down by super storm Sandy.  The Scouts worked their butts off and the park is really starting to look great.  They also pickup garbage left by tresspassers in the park, which really saddened everyone involved.  The Scouts have been really busy this month last weekend we were Scouting for Food Donations in front of the King Kullen Store in Hampton Bays and they collected over 400 lbs of non-perishable food for the St. Rosalie's Food Pantry.  Next month the Troop has registered to help out with the Great East End Clean Up on April 20th and we will be camping and participating in the Suffolk County Council Spring Camporee being held at South Haven County Park in Yaphank.  Over 5000 Scouts are expected to attend this event from all over Suffolk County and it promises to be a great time.
