— At 9:30 a.m., the Hampton Bays Public School District and the American Legion will hold a ceremony to honor America's heros and those who lost their lives on 9/11.
— Today is expected bring sunny skies. Weather.com predicts temps will reach 79 degrees with a 10 percent chance of rain.
— Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota held off Republican primary challenger Raymond Perini with about 56 percent of the vote on Tuesday, setting up the 12-year district attorney to run unopposed for a fourth term in November.
— Mark your calendar: The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation is holding its annual 5K Run for the Ridley next moth, on Oct. 26.
