CPI Hearing, Primary Vote and Drop in Crafts on Tap for Tuesday

Take a look at what's happening in the Westhampton and Hampton Bays area on Sept. 10.

Good morning, Westhampton and Hampton Bays area residents and visitors. Here’s a look at what’s happening on Tuesday:

— It's Primary Tuesday in Southampton. Locally, Conservative Party and Working Families voters can decide who they want to se on the ballot for Town Supervisor and Superintendent of Highways. Southampton Town Conservative voters have the option of writing in the name of the candidate of their choice for the position of Town Supervisor.  There will be no names printed on the ballot, but you can write-in the name of the candidate you want. Republican Linda Kabot and Republican Phil Keith are both seeking the Conservative line. Meanwhile, Working Families Party voters can decide between incumbent Alex Gregor, an Independence party member whose name is printed on the ballot, or write-in a name. Republican Dave Betts has been actively campaigning for the party line.

— Today is expected bring partly-cloudy skies. Weather.com predicts temps will sit at 78 degrees with a 10 percent chance of rain.

— Mark your calendar. A documentary on sea level rise and the problems that coastal communities face will be shown on Sept. 21 at Southampton High School at 7:00 p.m. 

—  The Southampton Town Board will hold a regular meeting at 1:00 p.m. On the agenda is the Canoe Place in proposal in Hampton Bays. Find out what else is on the agenda here

— Teens, ages 12 to 18 are invited to the Westhampton Free Library at 3:30 for a session of craft-making. No registration is required.
