— Congratulations to Lily Pereyra and James Buono, the winners of the Westhampton Library's sixth annual poetry contest. The contest, sponsored by the Friends of the Westhampton Libary, focused this year on water quality and the need for clean water around the globe. To read the poems, click here.
— Southampton Town Supervisor candidate Linda Kabot blogged about her supportive stance on the Canoe Place Maritime PDD. She writes, "I am favorable to the zone change to a PDD for this group of properties, but have many concerns about the scale, massing, height, aesthetics, landscaping, lot coverage, sewage treatment and other issues associated with the proposed high-density residential development of the east side of the Shinnecock Canal." — Tonight at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, "Still Mine" will be shown. It's a love story "about Craig and Irene, a devoted couple in their twilight years," the description reads. "Using the methods taught to him by his father Craig sets out to build a more suitable house for his ailing wife but is blindsided by local building codes and bureaucratic officials. It stars Academy Awards Nominees James Cromwell and Genevieve Bujold. Tickets range from $5 to $15. The screening starts at 8 p.m. There's one more chance to see it on Wednesday at 8 p.m., too.
