Springs decorative artists donate mural to Southampton Hospital ER's pediatric care room.
Working down to the wire, the artists of Heather Dunn & Co. recently put the finishing touches on their third mural donated to Southampton Hospital, just weeks before the lead artist leaves the East End to be reunited with his spouse, who is returning from serving in Afghanistan. The Springs-based interior decorative arts firm, a family company composed of Heather Dunn-Kostura, her husband Richard Kostura and her stepson Thom Kostura, started the project April 4, in the pediatric care room of the hospital’s ER, leaving a short window of time to complete the mural before Thom had to go. The team wrapped up the project last Wednesday, April 18. They previously painted an extensive mural in the hospital basement depicting the beach and a …

Concierge doctor show will film on the South Fork starting this month.
USA Network cable show "Royal Pains," about a physician who makes housecalls for the Hamptons elite as well as the everyman, is returning to the area to shoot scenes for its fourth season — and a casting agency is looking for local people to be background actors. Grant Wilfley Casting, of Manhattan, says that USA will be in Westhampton on April 30 and Southampton on May 10 and is in need of "people with the affluent look and the wardrobe to portray the high-society Hamptons elite." There may be additional South Fork filming dates as well. Both union and non-union actors are sought to portray Hamptonites, socialites, model-types, "ladies-who-lunch," beach-goers, yachtsman, golfers, tennis players, owners of ultra high-end cars, bankers, …

Yesterday we had 800 local Artist-Members attend the Opening of the Annual Artist Member Exhibition in the afternoon, and Uncle Vanya opened last night in the theater - a production that employs and features 20 local …   more ›
