Westhampton Beach Ex-Chief Named Mets MVP Dad

Mark Raynor's sons, Jimmy, Justin and Connor entered their father in contest.

Former Chief Mark Raynor was honored on Sunday by the Mets at Citi Field as a MVP Dad.

According to MLB.com, Raynor, 56, who has been battling pancreatic cancer since January, was nominated for the distinction by his sons, Jimmy, Justin and Connor.

Raynor served as a volunteer firefighter for 30 years and also worked as a police officer for 18 years. He also sat as a trustee and deputy mayor for the .
