Wanted: Your Love Stories For Historical Society Contest

The Hampton Bays Historical Society is looking to share the love at its first annual Sweetheart Soirée.

Maybe when you met your husband, it wasn't quite love at first sight, or perhaps the moment you laid eyes on that tall stranger across the room, you knew you would marry him. The Hampton Bays Historical Society is soliciting stories like these for its first annual Sweetheart Soirée.

"We are looking for some great love stories," said Brenda Berntson, who heads up the historical society. "We want to hear how people met their spouses and about the love of their lives. It can be your story or a favorite family story."

Stories submitted, she said, will all be put on display on Feb. 17 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. along with wedding dresses of the past. Attendees will all be able to place a vote for the best story with the donation of a $1 to the society.
