Southampton Police Log: 70-Year-Old Crashes into Tree, Charged with DWI

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Assault

Victor Rojas, 32, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Friday at 4:28 p.m. on Hampton Bays Drive in Hampton Bays and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors. Police said Rojas punched a hole in the wall of a home on Hampton Bays Drive and closed a door on the hand of an eight-year-old boy. The boy’s hand was bruised and swollen.

Criminal Tampering

Michael Herzog, 25, of Southampton was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Tuesday, June 14 at 8:02 p.m. on Rampasture Road in Hampton Bays and charged with third-degree criminal tampering, a misdemeanor. Police said Herzog put a boot on his tenant’s car, causing the tenant to lose a day of work. Police said Herzog told them the tenant had not paid rent for several months.

DWI

Kenneth Curry, 50, of Hampton Bays, was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Sunday at 10:19 p.m. on Spruce Street in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Curry drove his car into a tree on Spruce Street, a small road within a trailer park off Montauk Highway.

John Gallino, 36, of Rocky Point, was arrested by Southampton Town Police Saturday at 9:53 p.m. at the corner of Flanders and Old Riverhead roads in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Gallino hit a parked car near the intersection, police said.

Kristen Morgan, 27, of East Hampton was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Thursday, June 16 at 10:56 p.m. on the corner of Flanders and Bellows Pond roads in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Morgan was stopped for speeding, police said.

Donna Ogiejko, 46, of Brookhaven was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Wednesday, June 15 at 9:40 p.m. on the corner of Squiretown and Old Squiretown roads in Hampton Bays and charged with aggravated DWI, a felony. Police said Ogiejko was pulled over for swerving out of lane. After investigating, they found she was intoxicated. Ogiejko was charged with aggravated DWI because she had an elevated blood alcohol content.

Paul D. Fallo, 34, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Friday at 3:14 a.m. on Ocean Avenue in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they pulled Fallo over when he made a turn without signaling.

Barbara Cooper, 70, of Westhampton was arrested for DWI at 10 p.m. on Monday.  Police say Cooer drove off the road, crashing into a tree at the corner of Rampasture Road and Elder Avenue.  Police said when they arrived Cooper was complaining of a head injury after her car's airbags deployed. She was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center. After an investigation, police dais they found she had been drinking.

Aggravated Harassment

Bruce Harris, 45, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Tuesday, June 14 at 12:32 p.m. at town police headquarters and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor. Police say Harris called someone and said “You’re going to be sorry, if I come down there” and an obscenity, police said.

Criminal Contempt

Darius Campbell, 22, of Quiogue was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Tuesday, June 14 at 12:53 a.m. at police headquarters and charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and second-degree aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor. Police said Campbell violated an order of protection by calling and text messaging a person. Campbell threatened to hurt himself and the person he called.
