Update: On Saturday evening, Southampton Town police searched for a red, 1998 Plymouth Voyager minivan in the Flanders area, but were unable to locate the car.

The search was prompted, according to police reports, after a Flanders man called police to report that a man, who was unknown to him, approached him near Oak Avenue in Flanders. The victim said that after an exchange, the man said he was going to look for his gun in his car. The police also indicate that the victim was allegedly punched in the face.

Police said they searched the area, but the victim said he did not wish to pursue charges.

Previously: According to chatter on police radio Saturday after 11 p.m., state, town and Westhampton Beach police are looking for a man with a gun, and a red '98 Plymouth Voyager minivan.

A dispatcher said around 11:25 p.m. that the incident is "still active." Police were being dispatched to Flanders to search for the minivan.
