PHOTOS: Hampton Bays Students Honor the Fallen Heroes of 9/11

Students create a 9/11 and ribbon formation on school field.

As the clouds whisked away on the morning of Sept. 9, Hampton Bays Middle and Elementary School students along with the Hampton Bays Fire Department honored the lives lost on 9/11 at their annual ceremony, held on the grounds of the Hampton Bays Middle School.

1,400 students shuffled out on the field, wearing red, white, blue and purple shirts to form a giant 9/11 that could been sceen from above.

During the ceremony, students read poems.
