Hampton Bays Native Named as Colonial Athletic Association Field Hockey Player of the Week

Genna Kovar is also a Women's Field Hockey.com player of the week.

Hofstra University has announced that senior field hockey player Genna Kovar, who hails from Hampton Bays, has been named as a Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week. She was also named as player of the week by Women's Field Hockey.com for the week ending October 2.

Hofstra reported that Kovar, led her field hockey team, The Pride, to two Colonial Athletic Association victories and in doing so broke five school records.

“While I am truly honored and proud of my recent awards and school records, none of this would have been accomplished without the help of my teammates — past and present — and our coaching staff,” Kovar said and added, “Field hockey is a team game and great things can happen with solid team chemistry. I am a beneficiary of that  team chemistry which we have on the Hofstra team."
