Bideawee Pet of the Week: Zanzibar

Bideawee of Westhampton has a number of pets available for adoption.

This week, is looking to find a home for Zanzibar, a six-year-old Domestic Shorthair with brown tabby markings, and a funny orange spot on his back. He arrived at Bideawee after being found by a Bideawee volunteer and brought to our facility for care and shelter.

According to Deanna Murphy, the client care coordinator for Bideawee, Zanzibar is incredibly social and loves to meet new people.

"He will rub up against your legs to say hello.  He is very easy-going and low-energy, and would enjoy an equally calm and complacent household," Murphy said.

Zanzibar, says Murphy is a little bit sensitive to being handled roughly, and therefore, would be best with children over 10 years old.  However, he wouldn’t mind going to a home with other cat companions and adores the company of other felines.

The adoption fee for Zanzibar is $150. All of Bideawee’s pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Bideawee’s pets receive socialization, exercise, behavioral training and other daily activities that let the staff get to know each animal's special personality to make the best match.

To adopt Zanzibar or any other animal, call the Adoption Center at 631-325-0200 or visit them at 118 Old Country Road, Westhampton.
